Drop/impact simulation of a pop can.
In this nonlinear transient FEA simulation, a pop can is dropped to a rigid ground to study the impact between the two. The explicit FEA software LS-DYNA3D used (on a Pentium Pro 200 PC) for this preliminary study successfully predicted the dynamic behavior of the can, including buckling, yielding, bouncing back and turning over.
